Philippians

The church in Philippi is an extraordinary bunch. The bible book of Acts, chapter 16, suggests that it meets in the house of Lydia, a successful merchant, who welcomes in a slave-girl recently freed from demon possession. She also opens her doors to former prisoners, and their prison governor. This motley bunch have been transformed by the grace of God into a ridiculously generous family, according to 2 Corinthians, chapter 8, verses 1-5. This sermon series explores what Paul, who planted the church, wants to tell them to help them grow up even more into the likeness of their God. What might the Spirit of Jesus do among us as we read and consider this letter?
